Beyond Belief is now streaming exclusively on Angel, giving the Christian music-focused film a new home after its theatrical release earlier this year - the 2026 drama is set in the 1980s and follows Andy, a teenage rocker who is trying to make it in music while dealing with the loss of his father. After hearing a mysterious voice telling him to "run", his plans take an unexpected turn.
The film is set against the world of 1980s rock music, with Andy and his band, Jericho, competing in a battle of the bands. The prize is a chance to open for Petra, bringing the band's music directly into the story rather than simply using it as background music.
Carson Lueders stars as Andy, with James C. Burns, Debby Gerber, Ryan Barnes and Libby Smallbone also among the main cast. Johnny Meier directed the film and co-wrote it with Darren Scott Jacobs and Joe Sanders.
Petra is a major part of the film
The official Beyond Belief site says the film features music from Petra and describes it as the first full-length movie to feature the band's songs. Petra founder Bob Hartman and lead singer John Schlitt also make cameo appearances.
The film's soundtrack goes beyond the older Petra material too. The official soundtrack contains 12 tracks, including seven original songs created for the movie, three Petra songs, the opening score and the closing score. Carson Lueders performs several of the original songs as part of the fictional band Jericho.
The soundtrack is also available separately, including on CD and vinyl, making Beyond Belief as much a Christian music release as it is a movie release.
Beyond Belief is also getting a physical release
The streaming launch isn't the only way to watch the film.
Girder Music is handling the official physical release, with the DVD already shipping and the Blu-ray available to pre-order. The Blu-ray is listed as a region-free release and runs for 1 hour and 56 minutes. It also includes three music videos - "One Life", "Only One Who Saves" and "Heaven Yes, Hell No!".
Where can you watch Beyond Belief?
Beyond Belief is streaming exclusively on Angel from October 1, with the film available through the Angel app and Angel.com. Angel lists it as a PG drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 56 minutes.
The film's official website also includes a YouVersion five-day reading plan and study guide, extending the project beyond the movie itself.
